SIRIOS RESOURCES INC.: New Type of Gold Mineralization on
Aquilon

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA–Officers of SIRIOS RESOURCES INC. are
pleased to present the most recent results from exploration work
carried out on the AQUILON project (SIRIOS 50%, SOQUEM 50%)
located 10 kilometers south of the Laforge 1 electrical complex,
James Bay, Quebec. Prospecting work, trench mapping and rock
channeling as well as till sampling was completed on the project.

A new type of gold mineralization was discovered in the
“Sortileges Dores” area, characterized by a north-south striking
electromagnetic anomaly more than 800 metres long. Several gold
values were returned some 50 m west of this geophysical anomaly
within basaltic rocks. This unit was delineated over more than
400 m and its width varies from 25 to 100 m, including a quartz
stockwork veinlet zone some 1 meter thick which returned 3.03 g/t
Au up to 128.83 g/t Au in grab samples; this zone was uncovered
over 30 metres and channeling returned up to 0.93 g/t Au / 0.60 m.
More than 125 m to the south-west, the basalt is sulphurized and
silicified and contains up to 15% pyrrhotite and 20% quartz
veinlets over 5 to 10 m in thickness. This new zone was uncovered
over 50 m long and track samples indicate a systematic gold
content with several hundred ppb values (parts per billion) over
many meter widths. The most significant channeling results are as
follows: 2.44 g/t Au / 3.8 m, 1.43 g/t Au / 2.25 m and 0.54 g/t Au
/ 6.0 m over a 40 m length.

More than two km east, in the Lingo vein area, the Lingo South
vein, which had returned 119.7 g/t in grab sampling (see
2000/08/28 press release), was stripped over a ten meter length
and channel sampling returned the following results: 86.1 g/t Au /
0.95 m, 23.9 g/t Au / 0.42 m and 11.14 g/t Au / 0.49 m. Some 700
meters north-east, a new vein was uncovered with visible gold and
delineated over some 50 m laterally: the “Isabelle” vein returned
up to 86.5 g/t Au in grab sampling and up to 9.3 g/t Au / 1 m in
track sampling.

In the southern part of the property, a till sampling program was
carried out due to lack of outcropping; 55 samples weighing some
10 kg were taken and are currently being processed. This survey
should help evaluate the southern area potential.

In year 2000, several surface showings were discovered, consisting
of very high grade centimeter to meter size gold-bearing quartz
veins. The most significant gold values from diamond saw track
sampling were: 287 g/t /2.3 m (Moman), 110 g/t /3.5 m (Fleur de
Lys), 20 g/t/1.10 m (Grenouille-2), 54 g/t/0.75 m (Nouska) and 18
g/t/1.10 m (Z-1) (see 2000/08/28 press release). A gold value of
11.5 g/t (9.6 cut) over 3.7 m (incl. 41.1 g/t /1 m) was
intercepted in a shallow drill hole near the Fleur de Lys showing
(see 2000/12/13 press release).

Dominique Doucet, president of SIRIOS, said: “In addition to the
high grade gold-bearing quartz veins, we just discovered gold
occurrences in association with sulphurized and silicified
volcanics, indicating a good potential for new larger gold zones.
Considering the characteristics of the new mineralizations
discovered, some more advanced geophysical surveys should probably
be required to generate excellent drill targets”.

All samples were assayed at the Rouyn-Noranda Xral laboratory by
fire assay methods with DCP finish and checking by gravimetry. It
is actually possible to see a very beautiful gold sample from
Aquilon at the Musee de la Civilisation, Quebec city.

One of the most active mining exploration companies in Quebec,
SIRIOS is a very dynamic junior with some 20,492,474 Common Shares
issued and outstanding, trading on the Montreal Exchange under
SOI. SOQUEM Inc. is a division of SGF Mineral inc., a subsidiary
of the SGF, which mission is to carry out economic development
projects in partnership and in accordance with accepted
requirements of profitability.
