MONTREAL, QUEBEC–(CCNMatthews – Oct. 23, 2006) – SIRIOS RESOURCES INC. (TSX VENTURE:SOI) is beginning a follow-up exploration program on the PONTAX property located in the Opinaca-Eleonore Gold Area, James Bay, Quebec, Canada. The program covers a 2 sq. km area surrounding the recently discovered high grade silver-gold showing where rock samples graded up to 1,025 g/t silver and 1,4 g/t gold (ref.: press release August 24, 2006), it includes line cutting, Induced Polarization geophysical ground survey, stripping, channel rock sampling and mapping.
SIRIOS is actively exploring the Opinaca gold area James Bay, Quebec where it owns the largest area of mining rights adjacent and in the vicinity of the Eleonore gold deposit where Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE :GG, TSX:G) is proposing to spend several hundreds of millions of dollars in developing the deposit.
