MONTREAL, CANADA–(CCNMatthews – Sept. 12, 2006) – SIRIOS RESOURCES INC. (TSX VENTURE:SOI) completed the first prospecting phase on its KUKAMES and OPINACA NORD properties, OPINACA area, James Bay, Quebec. Work completed included mainly prospecting and geological reconnaissance with emphasis on targeted areas defined by the 2005 exploration program. More than 1,200 rock samples were sent for assays at the ALS-Chemex Laboratory of Val d’Or, Quebec and longer than expected processing delays postponed reception of results. Furthermore, 603 bottom lake sediment samples were collected and are being assayed in the laboratories of Actlabs, Ancaster, Ontario.

On the PONTAX property, a channel rock saw sampling program has been carried out on the recently discovered high grade silver-gold showing (ref. 08/24/06 Press Release) and samples will be sent to the laboratories in the coming days. This showing is now known to have a strike length of more than 250 meters.

Field work is performed by the personnel of IOS Services Geoscientifiques Inc. of Saguenay, Quebec, in addition to the staff of Sirios, under the supervision of Rejean Girard, Geo., Qualified Person.

SIRIOS owns the largest area of mining rights in the vicinity of the Goldcorp’s Eleonore gold deposit, James Bay, Quebec. In addition to the CHEECHOO and SHARKS properties, covering 300 sq. kilometers which are funded by a farming-in partner, SIRIOS wholly owns more than 3,300 claims forming the PONTAX, KUKAMES and OPINACA NORD properties covering more than 1,750 sq. kilometers in the Eleonore area.
