Overview & History
Corvet Est is a 6,500-hectare district-scale land package located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec, hosting a historically drilled, near-surface gold system with multiple mineralized zones and significant untested exploration potential. The project was originally advanced through a joint venture between Virginia Gold Mines Inc. and Goldcorp Inc. (now Newmont), which funded the discovery and early delineation of the deposit before activity wound down in 2012. In 2025, full ownership was consolidated and the project was transferred to OVI Mining, which was subsequently acquired by Sirios Resources.
Geology
Corvet Est is underlain by Archean rocks of the Superior Province, within the Guyer Belt — a volcano-sedimentary sequence fault-contacted with metasediments of the Laguiche Group. Rocks are east-west oriented with a steep northward dip and are metamorphosed to the amphibolite facies, with age dating returning approximately 2,749 Ma for the Guyer Belt. Gold mineralization at the Marco Zone is disseminated and orogenic in style, hosted within strongly foliated, amphibolite-grade volcanic rocks.
The Marco Zone has been traced continuously along strike for approximately 1.3 km, with mineralized intervals ranging from 1.8 to 39.5 m in apparent thickness and gold grades reaching up to 23 g/t over 1 m. Early drilling also identified a second structure, the Contact Zone, further demonstrating the multi-zone potential of the property.
Historical Work
Virginia’s discovery and delineation programs produced approximately 21,000 m of drilling across the property, establishing the Marco Zone as a robust near-surface target. Past drilling outlined a historical, non-compliant resource estimate of 375,000 ounces at 2.96 g/t gold. Notable intersections include 5.12 g/t Au over 13.4 m and 10.21 g/t Au over 3.0 m, with the zone remaining open at depth and along strike. This estimate is considered historical and is not compliant with NI 43-101; it should not be relied upon as a current mineral resource.
Infrastructure
Corvet Est benefits from the established infrastructure of the broader James Bay region, including road access, power infrastructure, and a long-standing framework of community and Indigenous relations developed through decades of regional mining exploration activities.
Next Steps
Sirios has completed drill targeting at Corvet Est and is advancing plans for a drill program aimed at expanding the known mineralized footprint and converting the historical resource into a compliant estimate. With large portions of the property remaining untested, Sirios is currently compiling all the geoscientific data of this project. Corvet Est represents a compelling near-surface discovery opportunity within a proven gold district.
