SIRIOS Creates KHALKOS EXPLORATION INC.
MONTREAL, QUEBEC–Officers of SIRIOS RESOURCES INC. (“SIRIOS”) are
pleased to announce the name of the new base metals exploration
company created by SIRIOS: KHALKOS EXPLORATION INC.. Subject to
the approval of all regulatory authorities and to the
Shareholders’ approval, approximately 1,6 millions Common Shares
of KHALKOS will be distributed to Shareholders of SIRIOS as
previously announced in a press release dated June 20, 2001.
Numerous summer exploration programs are going on SIRIOS’
properties as described below.
AQUILON – Gold, James Bay, Quebec, SIRIOS (50%) – SOQUEM (50%)
For more than four weeks now, a ten persons team, composed of
geologists and technicians, are conducting prospecting and till
sampling programs as well as mechanical stripping. These programs
will continue until mid-August.
SCHOLFIELD – Diamond, Hearst area, Ontario, SIRIOS (100%)
The airborne geophysical survey, carried out in March 2001 over
the property and its surroundings, was helpful to delineate 15
targets which can be caused by kimberlites. Additional claims
were staked to cover all the favourable areas increasing the
property to 1,090 claims for some 17,400 hectares.
A new till sampling program (100 samples) was completed in July to
validate the geophysical targets. Samples are now being
processed.
TRANS-TAIGA – Diamond, regional project in James Bay
A second till sampling program (75 samples) was carried out in
June to confirm some anomalies detected by the first regional
survey (ref.: 01/04/04 press release).
TILLY – Molybdenum-copper-gold, SIRIOS (100%)
A four people crew is currently carrying out a prospecting and
geological reconnaissance program on the property.
JAMES BAY – Diamond, base metals, gold, regional project
Additional regional prospecting is also being carried out in James
Bay outside actual SIRIOS’ properties on new geological targets.
One of the most active mining exploration companies in Quebec,
SIRIOS is a very dynamic junior with some 20,492,474 Common Shares
issued and outstanding, trading on the Montreal Exchange under
SOI. SOQUEM Inc. is a division of SGF Mineral inc., a subsidiary
