MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA–SIRIOS RESOURCES INC. is pleased to
report results from the first diamond drill program on the Terra
Nova gold property, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Four drill holes were
completed on a 200 meter section (“Goiano Vein”) in the western
part of a three km long fault structure previously worked by
garimpeiros. Both holes #3 and 4 were successful confirming high
grade gold at vertical depth of 70 and 120 meters respectively.
Poor core recovery from the intersection in hole #2 resulted in a
low grade assay from the intersection, which otherwise appeared
to have the same characteristics as hole #3. Hole #1, which is
located 100 meter further east of the main garimpeiros workings,
intersected a weakly mineralised, faulted offset extension of the
main gold bearing structure. Gold mineralisation at Terra Nova is
associated with quartz-sulphide breccia fissure veins and
strongly sericitised wallrocks, very similar to the high grade
veins at the Paraiba Mine near Peixoto de Azevedo. The Goinao
gold structure has now been confirmed by diamond drilling for a
minimum strike length of 70 meters and a minimum vertical depth
of 120 meters and is still open at depth and in strike.

All holes were drilled due south with dips of 60 degrees for
holes #1 ,2, 3 and 65 degrees for hole #4. Half core samples
were taken across the mineralized zone and sent for fire assay to
the Geosol (Lakefield) laboratory in Belo Horizonte. Diamond
drilling was supervised by members of Amazonia, and approved by
Dominique Doucet, P. Eng., Qualified Person pursuant National
Instrument 43-101.
The Terra Nova property covers 156 sq km in northern Mato Grosso
state east of the town of Terra Nova. It falls within the Alta
Floresta – Peixoto de Azevedo Mineral Province. Local garimpeiros
have produced gold from high grade quartz veins and mineralized
wall rocks.
SIRIOS is also planning to explore the Garaffa property in the
Tapajos Mineral Province, under their agreement with Amazonia
(11/22/2002 Press release) This is a high grade gold property
associated with a strongly mineralised regional fault zone in the
Nova Brasilia – Vila Porto Rico area. The company is currently
considering other opportunities in this prolifically mineralised
gold province.

to explore for and develop high grade gold deposits with near
term production potential in the Alta Floresta – Peixoto de
Azevedo and Tapajos Mineral Provinces of Brazil.
